Decoupage tutorial

Hello! A while back I made this card using the Special Day girly stamp and our Floral paper pack..

Special-day-web

Since then I've had several requests for a tutorial/how to pics, so here we go!

First of all, stamp Special Day onto white card using black ink (I use
Memento Tuxedo Black). Colour in everything except the dress/bag – here I
used ProMarkers in Blush, Dusky Pink (for the skin), Blossom (for rosy
cheeks), Orchid (for the jewellery/shoes), and Vanilla (for the hair).

Next, take some patterned paper from the Floral pack and stamp the
dress part of the stamp onto it three times.

Paper-web

Cut out the skirt parts, as shown below – so the first one will be the
top layer, and the last one will be at the bottom.

Next stamp the bag onto a leftover scrap of paper, and cut out. Make sure that the hand part is cut out too (see following pic as well). I used decoupage snips for this, makes it much easier to cut out.

Bag

Attach the skirt layers onto the stamped image one by one, starting with the bottom layer and working your way up to the top of the dress. I attached them with silicone glue, but another option is to curl the edges of the skirt so that they flare upwards. I also edged the dress pieces with Orchid pen, to highlight the wavy bits.

And the third layer – you can see she looks properly dressed now, lol..

Assemble3-web

Attach the bag as shown, and edge with glitter to make her look more glam and ready for the ball!

Here's a side view of the layering, if it helps:

Now you can do whatever you want to finish the card – I edged the panel with dashes drawn with the Orchid PM, then layered onto purple card etc, as you can see from the main first picture. You can of course adapt this idea to make any style of card you like!

Hope that helps everyone who asked for this. I'll be back soon with a sneaky peeky of our new Milton Christmas range! Woohoo!

AND in more demo news, I'll be back at Creative Craft Cabin this coming Saturday 10th July, with more ProMarker tips and techniques to share with you. So if you're in the Reading/Twyford area then come on down to say hello and be inspired!

i love your stamps but they are so hard to find in the us. I am looking for the sail boat and the vintage car and none of the sites listed have these do you sell and ship.

Hi Verlene! Thanks for your comment :-) We don’t sell direct but I’ve had a look through our stockists and the best one for you would be http://www.hotshotcraft.co.uk because they have both those stamps and are happy to ship abroad at cost – http://www.hotshotcraft.co.uk Hope that helps!
